My wife let me turn half of our garage into a surboard shop. That half is also split into two rooms, one for shaping and one for glassing. Thanks to Doug and Paul for helping me do this! I couldn't have completed it without you guys!
A few years ago I was unsatisfied with my surfboard collection and decided that if I could make my own surfboards, I'd have as many as I wanted and not have to pay outrageous prices for them. I have always been the artist type, so I figured I could take on the challenge...and I did. Little did I understand at the time the work involved in making a surfboard until I watched the video on how to do it. Still, reality didn't set in until I actually shaped, glassed, and added graphics to one myself. After all the blood, sweat and tears were over I had myself a pretty decent board. Since then I (...and my two friends Doug and Paul) have been perfecting our skills through making several boards and are now gravitating toward creating a side business out of this hobby. If you're interested in a custom board, shoot me an email! nelsonjd@gmail.com
